She was a member of Cave Hill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Reverend M. L. White; parents, Rufus T. and Emma Wagner Norton; and daughter-in-law, Magretha White; brother, Marvin Norton; brother and sister-in-law, Edd and Geneva Norton;brother-in-law, Ed Cook; aunt, Sally Norton. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Evelyn White of Rockford, TN; and son, Jim White of Jonesborough, TN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Kate Cook; sister-in-law, Gertrude Davies; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ralph and Maxine Stokely. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice and Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center for their special care. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend James Suggs, Reverend Fred Cagle and Reverend Chris Cupp officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the funeral home to proceed to Pleasant Grove Piney Church Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
