Ruth Jenelle Shipley

RUTH JENELLE SHIPLEY, age 58, of Strawberry Plains, TN passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Tennova North Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a retired waitress from Pizza Palace with 25 years of service. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret Hammonds; son, John Aaron Shipley; brother, Eddie Joy Hammonds; sister, Myrtle Covington. She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Shipley of Colorado, and Elizabeth Shipley of Knoxville; several grandchildren; sister, Margaret Caughorn of Knoxville; brothers, Donald Ray Hammonds of Knoxville, Robert George Hammonds of Strawberry Plains, Freddie Lee Hammonds of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Pollard Cemetery with Rev. Ray Covington officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
