Russell S. Johnston

RUSSELL JOHNSTON, age 88 of Dandridge, TN formerly of Jeffersonville, NY passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at his home. He was the son of the late Charles Edward and Anna Rebecca (Boling) Johnston, Sr. and was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Edward Johnston, Jr. Russell was a retired electrician and owned and operated a hardware store in Jeffersonville, NY, where he was a member of the I.B.E.W and was a volunteer fireman. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed, gardening, fishing, boating and bird watching. He is survived by his wife, Iva (Ray) Johnston; children, Christopher Johnston of Titusville, FL, Russell T. Johnston of Norfolk, VA, Joan Hert of Jeffersonville, NY and Karry Lugo of Okinawa Japan; step-children, Susan Cole and Karen Victoria both of Dandridge. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018, 4:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Neal officiating. Interment graveside service with military honors will be Monday, January 22, 2018 at 9:30am at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Knoxville, TN.
