Rue J. (E. Buck) Lowery

RUE J. (E. BUCK) LOWERY, age 81, a lifelong resident of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was an active member and deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army, haaving served in the Korean Conflict. He retired from New Jersey Zinc Mines with 30 years of service. Preceded in death by daughter, Demerius Rena` Brown; parents, Omer and Winaford Lowery; several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mildred Lowery; sister, Mary Lou Swann of Ohio; brother-in-law, Phillip Elmore and wife, Opal of New Market; sister-in-law, Lucille Hickman of New Market; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from the Farrar Jefferson City chapel with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service will full military honors. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church "Restore Our House Fund", 1916 Overlook Avenue, P. O. Box 665, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
