Ruby Johnson Kindred, age 83 of Jefferson City, Tn, after several years of declining health, found a lasting peace in the arms of her Heavenly Father around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2003. Ruby was a widow most of her adult life. Her husband, Phillip C. Kindred, Sr. was a casualty of World War II, having been killed in action July 16, 1944 on the battlefield of France. Ruby's immediate family survivors include her only son, Phillip C. Kindred, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, of New Market, Tn; grandson, Robert A. Kindred and wife Miriam; two great grandson, Luke and Mark, of New Market, TN; grandson, Phillip Michael Kindred and wife Marcie of Jefferson City; sister, Earle Marguerite Stair of Seymour; brother, C. T. Johnson and wife, betty, of Harriman. also surviving are three nephews, who were always in her thoughts, edwin Alan Stair, John W. Stair, and Gary Johnson. Ruby's immediate family is so thankful for the caregivers, nurses, and management of the Jefferson Couonty Nursing Home for their thoughtful and compassionate care during the last four years. The family will have a private service on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. There will be no receiving of friends. The remains will be laid to rest at Willard Park Cemetery, Harriman, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to "Mission Projects" of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1916 Overlook Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
