RUBY BAKER GROSECLOSE, age 87, a longtime resident of Jefferson City, TN passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City following an extended illness. She was a member of George Street United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl (Shorty) Groseclose; parents, George and Bessie Dyle Baker; brother, Earl Baker; and son-in-law, Clark McCoig. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara McCoig of Talbott; granddaughters and husbands, Sherry and Kenny Howard of New Market, Allison and Jerome Wilson of Talbott; great-granddaughter and husband, Kennetha and Mark Turley of Rutledge; great-grandson, Colt Howard of New Market; great-great-grandson, Joshua Turley and great-great-granddaughter, Madison Turley, both of Rutledge; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Bobbie Baker of Newport and Helen Baker of Jefferson City; several special nieces, nephews and numerous special friends. The family extends our deepest appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Life Care Center for the excellent care and devotion shown to our loved one, as well as to the family. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, August 22, 2008 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Tracy Colley and Reverend Cheryl Caruso officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to George Street United Methodist Church, 1340 George Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760, or to the ALP's Center, 600 N. Daisy Street, Morristown, TN 37814.
