Roy Lee Sams

Roy Lee Sams, age 92 of Dandridge, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

Mr. Sams was born and raised on his parents’ farm in Dandridge. In his early 20s, he moved to West Palm Beach, Florida where he met his wife, Terry; and raised their three children. Roy was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He later retired from a career as an aeronautical machinist for Pratt and Whitney. The family then returned to Dandridge, where he enjoyed golf, bowling, watching sports (Go Vols!), attending First Baptist Church, and visiting with family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry Morris Sams; his parents, Joe Berry Sams & Marie Clark Sams; and siblings, Tom, Robert, & Jack Sams and Betty Jo Rogers.

He is survived by his sisters, Christine Sams Lovelace and Nancy Sams Fox; sons, Jeffery (Nancy) Sams, Roy Clark (Meg) Sams, and daughter, Kelly Sams (Robert) Lindner; grandchildren, Rylan, Connor, Asher, August, Elijah, Malachi, Emi, Wade, Tara (Joseph), Maci, & Robby.

The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM, Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. A graveside service will follow at 2:30PM at French Broad Baptist Church Cemetery with Roy Clark Sams officiating.
