Roy "Red" H. Cate

ROY “RED” H. CATE, age 88, of White Pine, TN went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2018 at his home. He loved spending time with his family, farming, and was retired from American Enka/BASF after 43 years. Preceded in death by mother, Reba Northern; father, Jack Cate; daughter, Barbara Jean Cate; brothers, Lon Franklin and Robert Franklin; sons-in-law, Jimmy Wilson and George Davis. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Vennis Cate; daughters, Mary Ann Wilson and Sharon “Sis” Davis; grandchildren, Crystal Smith Coats, Tina Wilson (Jamie Carr), and Vanessa Davis-Buckner (Chris); great-grandchildren, Brayden Sutton, Jadyn “Jade” Coats and Elijah Briggs; sister, Lois McCoig (Garland); several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Rev. Darrell Chambers officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning at McCampbell’s Chapel Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
