Roy Kennneth Frazier,age 60, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on November 14, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Kim Frazier; son, Miles Frazier; brothers, Charles (Barbara) Frazier, and James (Wilma) Frazier. Mr. Grazier attended Jefferson High School, where e lettered in basketball, football, and baseball. His jersey in football was retired after his senior year. After high school, he attended Vanderbilt University on a football scholarship, and was an assistant football coach at the University of South Carolina, as well as an assistant coach at East Tennessee State University, Grad assistant and coach from 1965-1969. He was the youngest head college coach along with Bill Battle at the time for East Tennessee State, and Professor of P>E> from 1972-1978. His team played the first game under the Mini-Dome in Johnson City, TN. He was the first president at East Tennessee State of Delat Chi Alpha of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Mr. Frazier was also a member of George Street Methodist Church in Jefferson City, TN, a member of the Pirate Club, and a member of the Nashville Sports Council. Remains rest at the Hendersonville Chapel of Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, 182 W. Main St., Hendersonville, where the family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 18, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Good Shpeherd United Methodist Church, 525 New Shackle Island Rd. with Rev. W. Allen Weller officiating. Interment will be at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Steve Jackson, Randy Nash, Pinky Gilchrist, Patrick Burk, David Frazier, and Dale Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Advanced Concrete Tools, and his former coaching colleagues, and players, Eddie Samples, Miles aldridge, and Woody Dillard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jason Foundation, 116 Maple Rd., Hendersonville, TN 37075. There will be a guest register book available for signing at the Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City, TN. Arrangements are being handled by Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Hendersonville, TN (615)824-8605
