We celebrate his homecoming. Born September 28, 1928 in Jefferson County, he lived and worked in Blount County for numerous years and resided in Knoxville at the time of his death. Mr. Cuberson worked for the University of Tennessee for forty-nine years. Although acquiring a modest elementary education, he earned numerous awards and degrees in animal husbandry and agriculture. He was a senior member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Dandridge. Preceded in death by parents, Jim and Virginia Cuberson; brothers, James Allen and Jack Cuberson; in-laws, L. G. and Emma Griffin, Herman and Chaney Hicks, Glen Humphrey and Joyce Miller, Jasper and James Humphrey, raised by Walter and Rose Evans. Survived by wife of 54 years, Estella Patten Cuberson; daughter, Gay Gause; granddaughter, Ebony Gause; brother, Herman and Janice Cuberson; sister, Velder Humphrey; special devoted niece, Virginia Humphrey; nephews and nieces, Ralph and Pam Humphrey, Jasper and Sylvia Humphrey, Melvin and Sarah Woods, Marshell and Florence Evans, Ruth Daniels and Angie Dennis; including all nieces and nephews and cousins and devoted family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Dandridge with Rev. Billy Branner and Rev. Steve Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
