Roy E. Cook, age 75, of 262 Davis Road, Strawberry Plains, TN, died at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003. He was the widower of Roberta "Bertie" Brooks Cook. Mr. Cook was a deacon and long time member of First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains, TN nd was a retired employee of American Enka (BASF) of Morristown, TN. He is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Cheryl and Larry Burcham of Gatlinburg, and Cathy and Charlie Dalton of Knoxville; son and daughter in law, David "Bud" and Nora Cook of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren, Barrett Burcham, Holly Burcham, Lt. Ben Cook, and Wendi Cook; step grandchildren, Cassie and Ashley Adkins, Amy, Matt, and Brittney Dalton; brothers, Bill Cook of Knoxville and Ed Cook of Jefferson City; sisters, Mary Lou Satterfield, Geneva Bailey, and Betty Jane Lusk, all of Strawberry Plains; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, Feb. 18, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Rev. George Johnson nd Dr. Steve Burcham officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, February 19, 2003 at Strawberry Plains Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside interment service. Pallbearers will be John Tipton, Wayne McDaniel, Greg Lower, Harold Taylor, David Fugita, and Charles Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Lawson, Ralph Lawson, Russell Lawson, Bob and Jewell Hux, Boyce and Vivian Bailey, Marvin and Anice Ogle, and Corky Brooks. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening prior to services at the funeral home.
