RONALD L. SPRINGFIELD, age 63, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 3, 2003 in San Antonio, Texas from a brain aneurysm. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City, Tennessee. Mr. Springfield was a veteran of the United States Air Force ? Security Services. He graduated from Tennessee Tech with a B.S. degree and from the University of Tennessee Memphis with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. He retired from Revco after 19 years of service. He loved sports and always supported the Jefferson County teams. He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast, having traveled extensively around the United States and enjoyed it until his death, which occurred while traveling with his wife in Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. L. and Odell Halstead Springfield. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sue Springfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Tex and Tiffany Springfield of Powell, TN and Bubba and Lori Springfield of Strawberry Plains, TN; grandchildren, Kaitlin and Macy Springfield of Strawberry Plains; and special puppy, Petey. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Tom Edd Wilson of Signal Mountain, TN; sister-in-law, Gail Kerley of Crossville, TN; and mother-in-law, Duckie Wilson of Crossville, TN. Memorial services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2003 at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Janice Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Oncology Department of Children?s Hospital, P. O. Box 15010, Knoxville, TN 37901, in honor of his granddaughter, Kaitlin Springfield.
