Ronald Caroll Hollifield, age 62 of Jefferson City, passed away suddenly May 6, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hollifield was a retired veteran of the United States Army, having served many years as a Chief Warrant Officer. He was an airplane and helicopter pilot during his service as well as the recipient of the Bronze Star, 3 Purple Hearts, The Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He also served for three tours in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his daughters, W. Michelle Aycock of Savannah, GA and W. Melissa Bosse of Spencer, Massachusetts; son, Ronald C. Hollifield, Jr. of Daytona Beach, Florida; several grandchildren; brothers, Jackie E. Hollifield; sister, Shelby Rines, Helen J. Trent, and Patricia A. Jones; and several nieces and nephews. Private memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday evening, May 11, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Dr. Robert Young officiating.
