Roger L. Hartsell

ROGER L. HARTSELL, age 70 of Dandridge, TN passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 following a brief illness. He was a member of the Agape` Baptist Church of White Pine. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony Lee Hartsell; parents, Ruble and Lucille Hartsell; brother, Ronnie Hartsell; special mother -in-law and father-in-law, Hazel and Charles Woods. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pat (Woods) Hartsell; sisters, Lisa Henderson and Linda Chesteen; nephew, Richie Chesteen; nieces, Leanne (Skip) Chesteen-Boggs, Christy (Mitch) Evett, Summer (Ron) Shelton-Lester, Jackie (Jackie) Dalton-Jenkins; sister-in-law, Jan Woods; special life long friend, Bill Banks and a host of friends and family. Roger had a great love for kids and they loved him. He helped raise two little girls that called him their Papaw and they had a special love for each other: Hannah and Gracie Henderson. He also had some kids he loved that called him Paw: Garrett and Caleb Lindsey, Christopher Evett, Skyler Lester and Teana Shelton. He was called Uncle by Wesley and Andy Chesteen, Allison Jenkins, Jerry and Austin Dalton. To one special little boy, he was Uncle Papaw: Grady Boggs and a special young man had come into his life recently that he cared about a lot: Garrett Mudge. Graveside funeral services, Saturday, January 10, 2015, 2:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bobby Kitts officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 5:30 to 7:30pm at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE.
