Robert E. "Bob" Mason

ROBERT E. ?BOB? MASON, age 78, of Dandridge, TN, formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 following a brief illness. He was a member of the Lawson?s Chapel United Methodist Church, veteran of the U.S. Navy and a graduate of East Tennessee State University. Coach Mason was a prominent and well known teacher and basketball coach in the Knox Co. School System for over 30 years, having coached at Carter, Doyle and Karns High Schools, where he touched many lives and influenced many young people by being a great educator and a well respected coach and role model. Preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Frank and Jenny Lee Mason; sister, Betty Mason Grubb ; brothers, Ray, Dwight and Claude Mason. Bob was a true friend to many and will be greatly missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. Funeral service will be held Tuesday November 23, 2010, 7:00 PM at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny Ford, Rev. Charlie Harkleroad and eulogist, George Yardley officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to the service. The body will be moved to Kingsport, TN for a funeral service on Wednesday at 1:00pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Chapel with family receiving friends 12:00 to 1:00 prior to services and burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
