Rita June Williamson

Rita June (Smelcer) Williamson, age 60 of Jefferson City, Tennessee, went to be with Our Lord on March 4, 2025. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and G.B. Smelcer. She leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Allen Williamson; sister Barbra McCoy: brothers Glen Smelcer (Kathy), John Smelcer (Karen) and Gary Smelcer (Tana); brothers-in-law, Norman Williamson (Kathy), Ray Williamson (Ann), Joey Williamson (Dawn), Donnie Williamson (Brenda, who she was always grateful for introducing her to her husband), Tommy Williamson (Shana); many nieces and nephews; and the many friends she had.

Rita grew up in the Chestnut Hill area. She graduated from Jefferson County High School in 1982. She worked at Jefferson County Nursing Home as a CNA and LPN. She earned her RN at WSCC in 1994. She worked for the State of Tennessee at the Tennessee School for the Deaf, and the Department of Health for most of her career. Rita was an active member of Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church on March 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church in her honor.
