He was a loving husband, father and son and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Veda Strange and Clyde Scarlett. Survived by wife, Opal Ann Martin Scarlett; children, Chelsey Renee Scarlett, Richard Jackson Scarlett, Jr. and Tony William Scarlett, Brandon Lee and Erika Leann Mullins, all of the home, Karra Lindsae Scarlett and Richard Daniel Scarlett of Dandridge, McKenzie Watkins of Morristown; mother and step-father, Wanda and Charlie Fain; father and step-mother, Jack and Janice Scarlett; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Linda Scarlett; grandmother, Jennie Mae Case; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tony and Opal Martin; aunt, Nancy Humbard and husband, Roy; nephew, Kenny Scarlett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry and Charlotte Martin and daughter, April. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at the Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Reverend Rick Hollifield and Reverend John Thompson officiating. Graveside interment service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service.
