He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church of Morristown. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Preceded in death by parents, Richard P. Potts, Sr. and Katherine Richardson Potts; brother, Langdon R. Potts. He is survived by his wife, Mamie A. Potts; niece, Janie Potts Cameron; nephews, Langdon R. Potts, Michael Wayne Potts and Richard Alan Potts. At his request, no services will be held.
