Richard Carl Manz

RICHARD CARL MANZ, age 63, of Dandridge,TN passed away at his home on September 4, 2015 due to his military service-connected disabilities. He was the son of the late James Carl Manz and Shirley Ann Manz of Niagara Falls, NY. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1968-1974 and was a Vietnam Veteran. Richard competed in Bodybuilding and won the Masters division of the 1994 Mr. Buffalo Bodybuilding Championship in Cheektowaga and came in 2nd place in the 1992 New York State All Natural Bodybuilding and 3rd place in following years. In recent years Rick enjoyed body surfing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and kite flying on the beach and fly fishing in Tennessee with “Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Organization for disabled veterans. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Manz; daughters, Shannon (Sam) Perna of Welland Ontario, Lindsay (Dave) Keegan of W. Seneca, New York and Katie Lattimer of East Amherst, New York; grandchildren, Anthony Perna, Zach Perna, Nathan Perna and Jett Keegan; brothers, Bill Manz and Micheal Manz; Sister-in-laws, Cindi Manz and Donna Manz. A memorial service was held on September 13, 2015 on Douglas Lake with an inurnment service at The Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN.
