RICHARD (DICK) CARLINE, age 69 of Dandridge, TN died on June 10, 2007, after a short illness. He was born in Passaic, NJ on February 9, 1938, graduated from Clifton High School in 1955, earned a Bachelor?s degree in General Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1959, and a Master?s degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University in 1961. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. Dick was employed by AT&T Bell Laboratories from 1959 until he retired in 1991. During his career with Bell Labs, Dick worked in Whippany and Holmdel, NJ, Colorado Springs, CO, and Naperville, IL. He was promoted from Member of Technical Staff to Supervisor, Department Head, and lastly Director with responsibilities in the software development of electronic switching systems. Dick has served his Churches in the capacity of Treasurer at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, Newport, TN, Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Naples, FL and Wheaton, IL. Dick is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Gail Radcliff Carline, with whom he recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. He was a devoted and loving father to his children, Debra (J.J.) Jay, Lori (Chris) Stanicek, and Michele (Tom) Schroeder and his step-children, Michael (Erin) Eldridge, Jennifer (Dan) Jeffries, and Matthew (Kim) Eldridge. Dick is also survived by his mother, Rose Ardito Gauthier, brother, Robert (Marge) Carline, and sister-in-law, Judy Reilly, as well as 10 granchildren. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. A Memorial Service for his family and friends will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007, at 11:00 am at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, 304 Cosby Hwy., Newport, TN.
