REBA GAMBLE DUGGAN, age 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior September 11, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born and raised in the Ellejoy Community of Blount County, TN, one of nine children of Joseph H. and Ethel Gamble. Ellejoy Baptist Church was the center of the community and it was there where she accepted Jesus as her Savior. She eventually left the community to seek employment and later became employed by Fulton Sylphon Company in Knoxville, TN where she met the love of her life, Archie M. Duggan. They married in 1951 and were married for 60 years. After living in Knoxville, TN for several years, they moved to Jefferson City, TN, had a daughter, Karen Duggan, and lived there the rest of their lives. Reba loved the Lord, her church, and family with all her heart. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City for over 62 years and during that time was very active in her Sunday School, choir, and other activities. She loved singing and listening to hymns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie M. Duggan; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Gamble; brothers, Murrell Gamble, Alfred (Dick) Gamble, and Arthur Jack Gamble; sisters, Estelle Gamble Ownby, Edith Gamble Garner, and Ruth Gamble Sims. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Duggan; brother, Joseph (Jay) Gamble and wife Jolene; sister, June Gamble Roberts; sisters-in-law, Sandy Gamble and Jacqueline Gamble; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge appreciation to all the doctors and their staffs, hospitals, health care facilities, hospice care, and especially caregivers Ruth Snover and Pat Davis, along with her beloved Agape Sunday School class, who have all cared and loved her so much during her last years of life. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Rosser officiating. Graveside interment service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
