Ray Nell (Mimie) Stewart Crockett

RAY NELL (MIMIE) STEWART CROCKETT, age 85, born in Sparta, TN, passed away on April 21, 2015 at Jefferson County Nursing Home Green Houses Franklin Cottage in Dandridge, TN. She worked at Bike Athletic for many years and prior to that at Knox Stove Works, and was a graduate of Knox Business College. She was a member of Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church and an avid member of The Women of Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Ada Stewart of Sparta, TN; husband, C. N. “Buddy” Crockett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Jeanne Stewart of Virginia Beach, VA, Gene and Mildred Stewart of Sparta, TN, Edward and Ruth Stewart of Sparta, TN; son-in-law, Jeffery E. Cantrell of Strawberry Plains, TN. She is survived by her daughters, Nan Cantrell, Jan Berry and husband, Jeff; granddaughter, Erin Beason Massey; grandsons, Nick (Tiffany) Cantrell, Jeff (Kelly) Cantrell, Matt (Lori) Cantrell, Brandon (Keesha) Berry; adopted grandson, Nathan (Trish) King; great-grandchildren, Cadence, Gavin, Jocelyn, Blaine and Keegan Cantrell, Trystan, Kenzley and Kendra Berry, Audrey Johnson; adopted grandchildren, Ellie, Nate and Alex King; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Nell loved her Lord with all her heart and lived her life by giving all her love and friendship to everyone she met. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Maxey and Rev. Mike Chamberlain officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Friday morning at Eastview Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
