Ray M. Cate

RAY M. CATE, age 84, of Knoxville, TN passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022. He previously worked for C. B. Atkins Company, Oak Ridge Roofing Company, and retired from KCDC in the roofing department. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church.  Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Ida Cate; six sisters, and six brothers.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley Cate; son, David Cate (Becky); step-daughters, Robin Hurst (Dan), Penny Parsons; step-son, Greg Kiser; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Monday; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation of family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Cate Cemetery (Baldwin Cate Road, New Market, TN) with Rev. Josh Greene officiating.
