Member of Faith Baptist Church and veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Army. Retired from General Motors with 40 years of service. He also retired from PSS with 15 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Bruce; brothers, Dean, Jerry and Roy Bruce. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Bruce; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Beth Hughes of El Salvador, David and Shelly of White Pine, TN; grandchildren, Davey and Cory of El Salvador, and B. J. of El Paso, TX, where he is stationed at Fort Bliss Army base; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from the Farrar Jefferson City chapel with Pastor David Cross and Reverend Jerry Utsman officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Family and friends will gather at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 1:00 p.m. graveside interment service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 118 Colossians Court, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
