RALPH W. MUNSEY, age 83, of White Pine, TN, a loving husband and father, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 after a lingering battle with cancer. He was born August 9, 1928 in Hawkins County to Albert F. and Annie Harrell Munsey. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Terry Lynn Munsey; brothers, Glen, Bud, Rev. Howard, Ben Munsey, and infant sister Mary. He leaves behind to mourn his death his loving wife of 60 years, Mable Morrow Munsey; brothers, Otis, Bob and Herbert Munsey; and sister, Claudestine Lowe; children, Steve (Rose) Munsey of Greenville, SC, Debra Munsey Jones and Tom (Donna) Munsey of Morristown; grandchildren, Mandy Jones Synamon, Markand Brandon Jones, Michael and David Munsey, Joshua Munsey, Joseph (Lashae) Munsey; great-grandchildren, Erika and Alexa Synamon, Faith and Aliyah Munsey, Kaylynn and Jace Jones; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Wayne and Margaret Franklin of Greenville, TN and Johnny and Joyce Morrow of Ocala, FL; also several nieces, nephews and other family members. Ralph was an avid fisherman with many friends. He was saved at an early age and was the oldest member of Peace Freewill Baptist Church, where he once served as a Sunday School teacher and trustee. Ralph was a veteran of the US Air Force, and retired from Magnavox as General Foreman after many years of service. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 7:00pm at Peace Freewill Baptist Church in Morristown with the Rev. Brian Osborne and Rev. Chris Dotson officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm prior to the service. Military graveside interment service will be on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:30am in Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway in Knoxville.
