RALPH W. HUBBARD, age 74 of Dandridge, TN passed away suddenly Saturday morning, July 30, 2005 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born and raised in Jefferson County and was the son of the late James and Lucille Whittaker Hubbard. Preceded in death by wife, Glada Messer Hubbard and grandson, Michael Gibson. Ralph was a life time member of the Jefferson County Rescue Squad, where he served as Squad Captain for several years. He was an active member of the Deep Springs Baptist Church and was retired from American Enka after 30 plus years of service. Survived by wife, JoAn Hubbard; daughter and son in law, Kathy and Bill Batson of Louisville, TN; daughter, Pam Warren of Hendersonville, NC; sons and daughters in law, Danny and Shirley Hubbard, David and Kim Hubbard, all of Dandridge; sister and brother in law, Wanda and Leonard Bates of Strawberry Plains, TN; stepson and daughter in law, Jimmy and Cary McCown of Ellsworth, ME; grandchildren, Lori Wise, Chris Gibson, Joe Shropshire, Nicholaw Hubbard, Chloe Hubbard and Leah Hutson, Jamie, Justin and Chelsea McCown; four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2005 at Deep Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Sledge, Rev. Jerry Colbert and Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. Interment graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Dandridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowrs, the family requests that memorials be made to the Jefferson County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 261, Dandridge, TN 37725.
