Princess Thomas

Princess Delores Thomas, age 63, of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, passed away Friday, June 27, 2003 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center following a long battle with breast cancer. She was a member of Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of Magnavox Corporation, after more than 20 years of loyal service. She was preceded in death by her step-father, John Greenwood; father, Charles Gillenwaters and sister-in-law, Audrey Gillenwaters. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ross Thomas, Sr. of Strawberry Plains; daughter and son-in-law, Ranota and Reginald Hall of Durham, North Carolina; sons and daughters-in-law, Ross and Carmen Thomas, Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Ralph and Amy Thomas, of Greensboro, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Andrew and Mary Rose Hall, Delaney and David Thomas, and Jessica and Jacob Thomas; mother, Kathryn Greenwood of Boise, Idaho; brothers, Charles Gillenwaters of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Gregory Greenwood of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Carmen, Madeline and Sheila Greenwood of New Jersey; sisters-in-law, Reba McBee of Strawberry Plains, TN and Nina Moore of Detroit, MI; several devoted and loving friends and relatives and caregivers at the hospitals. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Maxey officiating. Interment to follow in Eastview Memorial Gardens. Immediately following the interment service, family and friends will gather in the fellowship hall of Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the National Cancer Institute, Building 31, Room 11A16, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland 20892.
