Phillip Larry Boggs, of Dandridge TN, passed away Thursday December 27, 2012 peacefully at his home. Born October 4th, 1940, the son of OBJ Boggs and Leona Jewell Patterson Boggs of Greenville, MS. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Martin D.Boggs of Carlsbad NM. Larry was a 1959 graduate of Greenville High school and graduated from Delta State in 1963,earning a BA Degree. While at Delta State, Larry met and married Mary Elizabeth Ferri of Cleveland. Mary is the daughter of the late Ben and Frances Ferri of Cleveland, Mississippi. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1972 with a Masters in Education. Larry retired as a manufacturing manager in the apparel industry. He worked with corporations such as Vanity Fair, lzod Lacoste, Sara Lee and Bike Athletic , both internationally and domestically. Larry was recently a candidate for the House of Representatives in the 2012 Republican Primary. He was also a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Dandridge Lions Club, the NRA and the Republican National Committee. Larry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Elizabeth and their four children; Mary Frances Boggs Tatham and husband Doug of Seymour, Phillip Larry Boggs Jr. and wife Stacy of Kingston, Ronald Heath Boggs and wife Tanya of Knoxville, and William Hugh Boggs and wife Denise of Seymour. Larry leaves behind seven grandchildren, Catherine Tatham Moody and husband Ryan, Ben Tatham, Savannah and Brett Boggs, Kayla and Devin Boggs and Jamie Davidson; and one great-grandchild, Braylon Davidson. Larry is survived by his brother, Christopher K. Boggs and wife Carol of Knoxville, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jefferson City, TN, on Sunday ,December 30th, 2012. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM and Mass will follow at 1:00PM. Interment will follow immediately after Mass at Dandridge Memorial Gardens. Services will be officiated by Father Dan Whitman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home Dandridge, TN (865) 397-2711
