She was born November 15, 1911 in Blount County, TN. She was owner and operator of Goan and McCoig Market for many years. Preceded in death by husband, Forrest M. McCoig; nephew, Donald L. Goan, who she raised. She is survived by her daughters, Leta Baharestan of Richmond, KY and Shirley Moore of White Pine; grandchildren, Zhalet Baharestan of Louisville, KY, Kaveh Baharestan of San Francisco, CA, Stephanie Moore of Memphis, TN and Kara Moore of Plano, TX; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2007 at Leadvale Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Harkleroad and Reverend Charles Robison officiating. Graveside entombment services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Hamblen Memory Gardens in Morristown, TN. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral service. The family will be at the home of Shirley Moore, 778 Leadvale Church Road, White Pine, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Leadvale Baptist Church, 874 Leadvale Church Road, White Pine, TN 37890.
