Pauline "Sue" Barnard

Pauline “Sue” Barnard, age 79, passed away at her home in White Pine on Monday, December 22, 2014. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1935, she spent most of her life in East Tennessee. She was a loving wife and mother, and was a successful business woman. She and her husband, Ray Barnard, who preceded her in death in May of 1989, established Barnard EMC, which she continued to manage until her passing. Sue is survived by four children: Paulla Smith of Knoxville; Melody Matney of Sevierville; Roma Moore of Lexington, SC; and Jeff Barnard of Acworth, GA. She was preceded in death by two sons, Eric Barnard and Baby Boy Barnard. She has been blessed to have nine grandchildren: James Smith of White Pine; Erica Gunnison of Fort Benning, GA; Scarlett Valentine of Knoxville; Abby Garcevic of Jonesboro; Rachel Moore and Emily Moore of Lexington, SC; Ryan Barnard of Meridian, MS; Kyley Barnard of Meridian, MS; and Jake Barnard of Acworth, GA. Sue has also been blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren. Sue was known as “Ma”, and was loved and adored by many friends whom she considered family. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jefferson City, where her memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.
