Paul Rogers

Paul Rogers, age 87, of Talbott, TN, passed away early Saturday morning, March 22, 2003 at his home following a brief illness. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for more than 75 years and was a retired employee of US Steel after 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by hiswife, Lorene Rogers; parents, Jesse and Naomi Smith Rogers; sisters, willie Mae Smith and Ethel Smith; and a brother, Homer Rogers. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Carroll and Ikey Rogers of Talbott, and Johnny and Marthat Rogers of Talbott; grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Mary Beth Rogers, Jody and Kristi Rogers, and Melissa Rogers, Angela and Tony Wells, Tim and Tammy Rogers, and Mike and Sharon Rogers; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Francis Hargus of Talbott, Thomas Leon Rogers of Talbott, and James Rogers of Talbott; several nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Kathy Horner and Roberta Bishop; and a special thanks to Hospice of Morristown and Adventa Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday evening, march 23, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Rev. Kenny Boling officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday morning, March 24, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church or to Adventa Hospice.
