Paul Edward Blair, age 73, born on April 7, 1929 passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2003. He worked several years at Newport Manufacturing Company. He opened his own upholstery shop in 1958, working part time to provide for his growing family, and began working full time there in 1967. As word of his excellent craftsmanship of upholstery grew, he became in high demand and developed many friends, who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Florence Blair; brothers, Clarence Blair and Ralph Blair; and sister, Carllou Stooksbury. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Willie Frances Blair; son, Charles Blair; daughters, Linda Strain, Brenda Wampler, Charlene Garrett, Shirley Mattingly, and Ginny Lee; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren; brothers. Larance Blair, Clifford Blair; sisters, Bessie Davis and Mary Cannon. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 from the Blue Springs Church of God, with Rev. Jack Cook officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, FEb. 15, 2003 at Pleasant Grove Piney Cemetery for graveside interment services. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the church prior to the service.
