Patty Simpkins Dotson, age 84, of White Pine, TN and formerly of Red Jacket, WV was called by our Lord and Savior to take her place in her heavenly home on March 8th, 2017. Born August 7, 1932 in Newtown, WV she was the daughter of the late Guy and Vicie Simpkins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her second husband, John Dotson, her brother Ira Simpkins and brother-in-law Claude Chafin. Patty was proud to be a dedicated Christian and would rejoice in knowing that she will meet her family and friends again on Heaven's beautiful shore. One of her greatest accomplishments was her career as a school teacher in Matewan, WV for 30 years. During her teaching career she influenced and touched the lives of both students and co-workers. Survivors include one son, Alan (Tammy) Dudley of White Pine, TN; her granddaughter, Crystal (Matt) Ramey of Red Jacket, WV; two great- granddaughters, which were the light of her life, Aleena and Kaylee Ramey, both of Red Jacket, WV; one sister, Margaret Chafin of White Pine, TN; and a sister -in- law, Lois Simpkins of Dandridge, TN; plus nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was joyed and blessed to be called "'Mamaw Patty" and "Aunt Doll". Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted (Matthew 5).
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 2017, 2:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. Interment to follow at Dandridge Memorial Gardens.
