Patsy T. Harper

PATSY T. HARPER, age 89, of Dandridge, TN and formerly of Knoxville, TN and Lexington, KY passed away August 28, 2014 at Beverly Park Place, Knoxville, TN. Patsy loved her church (Hills Union Methodist Church, Dandridge), fishing, handwork, playing cards, and Universities of Kentucky and Tennessee football and basketball. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. T. Harper; parents, John Lewis and Zella Mae Thomas; brothers, John Lewis Thomas, Jr., and Charles Otis Thomas; sisters, Mary Nancy Lippert and Jane Harret Lynch; son-in-law, Samuel D. Gross, Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Anna Gross; and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by sons, Michael (Janie) Harper of Knoxville, TN, David (Pam) Harper of Lexington, KY; daughter, Alice Mae Gross and friend, Diane Stracner of Florence, AL; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; SPECIAL FRIEND PAT OWENBY; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. Family will also receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY. Graveside interment service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Lexington, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hills Union Methodist Church, 2483 Chestnut Hill Road, Dandridge, TN 37725, or to a charity of your choice.
