Patrick Joseph Bohn

PATRICK J. BOHN, age 75 of Parrottsville, TN died at his home on January 12, 2020. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Schaffer (Richard) of PA, and Esther Mae Lazorko (Jonathan) of NJ, and his grandchildren, Gabriel Schaffer and Elizabeth, Maria and Michael Lazorko. Patrick Joseph was born on April 23, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late William E. Bohn and Kathleen E. Holmes Bohn. He grew up in a large family with siblings, William E. Bohn, III (deceased), Joseph Bohn, Kathleen Miller, Francis Bohn, Michael Bohn, Anna Mitchell, Judy Mullen, Gary Bohn, Kevin Bohn, Philomena Ligameri, Maureen Hirsch and David Bohn. He married Esther McCleary (deceased) in 1962. Patrick enlisted in the US Army in 1968 and retired in 1992. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 1980, was a Photography Specialist and an Army Recruiter. He was stationed in Germany and Korea, where he was awarded the IMJTN Scout Insignia in 1981. He was a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm while serving in the 101st Airborne Division. During his service in the Army, he received the National Defense Service Medal w/BS, the Army Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Overseas Service Ribbon (H), the Army Achievement Medal, among others. After retiring from the US Army, he worked as a youth counselor at Mountain View Youth Development Center in Dandridge, TN until he retired. A memorial service mass will be officiated by Msgr. Robert Hofstetter at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Newport, TN on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 7:00pm. As a military veteran his cremated remains will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Pat Summit Alzheimer’s Foundation.
