PATRICIA FAYE HICKLE, age 62, of New Market, TN passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 after a lingering battle with heart complications. She was born September 29, 1946. She is survived by her husband, Ernest J. Hickle. They had been married for forty-four years. She is also survived by daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Hubbard and husband Nathan; and son, Mike Hickle, both of New Market; grandchildren, Emily Hubbard (13), Tyler Hubbard (9), and Michael Hickle (17); mother, Mabel Jean Smith of New Market; sisters, Brenda and husband Don Watson of New Market, and Teresa and husband Wesley Giles of Simpsonville, South Carolina. Faye, as she was known, was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Smith and sister, Charlene Scarlett. Faye was very active in church serving as church pianist for many years at the Jefferson City Church of God. She was very active in many of the church activities, serving as Children?s Sunday School teacher for many years. Prior to that she was a charter member and participant in the organizing of the Dandridge Church of God. There she taught Sunday School and was actively involved in singing. Before moving to assist with this new work, she was a member of the Cedar Hill Church of God, working with many church activities, including fund raising activities for church expansions. Faye has actively been involved in some aspect of God?s service for over forty years. In addition to being a mother, wife, and church worker, she was an avid tennis player. As a member of the Cedar Bluff Racket Club in Knoxville, she helped her doubles team win many tournaments, as well as going on to playing in and winning many state and regional titles. The funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Pastor Larry Dye, former Pastor Walter Isbill and Rev. Bob Grout officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service.. Family and friends will gather at Farrar Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
