Pamela "Pam" Farrar

PAMELA S. “PAM” FARRAR, age 73 of Dandridge, TN passed away suddenly Saturday, May 7, 2022.  She was born October 5, 1948, to the late Roy E. “Toad” Farrar and Helen “Pinky” Ward Farrar.  Pam was a 1966 graduate of Maury High School and a 1970 graduate of East Tennessee State University where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and the E.T.S.U. Marching Drill Team.  Following graduation, she began her 36 years of teaching English and Language Arts at Morristown Junior High, Meadowview Middle School and Jefferson Co. High School.  Pam was active in the Dandridge community that she loved dearly and served on the Dandridge City Council with over 20 years of service.  She was so proud to give many hours of her time and commitment to her town.  While serving on the council, it was her goal to keep Dandridge moving forward but to also maintain the rich heritage of her hometown.  She was a member of the Dandridge First United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading and sharing with her monthly book club friends which they humorously referred to as the Dandridge Enthusiastic Book Society.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew and worked with her along with the many students she taught during her career.  In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be made to Friends of the Smokies, P.O. Box 1660, Kodak, TN 37764, in which she was a volunteer of events along with her dear friend Lauren Gass.  Pam is survived by her brothers, Rick Farrar and Jack (Tammie) Farrar; nieces, Laura (Cody) Cantrell and Kelly (Carey) Farrar.  Funeral services will held Wednesday, May 11, 2022, 6:00pm at the Dandridge First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Kristen Burkhart and Rev. Dr. Caroline Goddard officiating.  The family will receive friends Wednesday 4:00pm to 6:00pm prior to services at the church.  Graveside interment will be Thursday, 11:00am at Hillcrest Cemetery with Bro. Kenneth Thornhill and Rev. Darrell Chambers presiding.
