Oran Harris

Oran Harris, age 89, of White Pine, TN passed away December 16, 2013 at Jefferson County Nursing Home. Oran was a World War II Veteran, proudly serving his country in the South Pacific. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #5266 and a member of the Post Honor Guard for 39 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Debbie Laws Harris; brothers, Homer, Oscar and Dorman Harris; sisters, Nora Harris and Dorothy Bowling; sons, Ronnie and Keith Harris. Survivors include his daughter, Linda (Michael) Everidge of Morristown; son, Steve (Claudine) Harris of White Pine; grandchildren, Rebecca Everidge of Athens, Stephanie (Brandon) Potts and Elijah (Tiffany) Harris all of White Pine; great-grandchildren, Aiden Green and Branson Gregory of Morristown, Hailey and Korbin Potts of White Pine; special niece and nephew, Debbie (Roy) Haisley and David (Margaret) Bowling of Knoxville. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 5-7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with the Rev, Charlie Harkleroad and Bishop Robert Carpenter officiating. Military Graveside Interment will be on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:00am at Union Cemetery in Newport with VFW Post #5266 officiating.
