Opal "Inez" Collins

Opal “Inez” Collins, age 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in Jefferson City, TN.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Truman and Golden Parks, her loving husband, Roy “Jack” Collins, daughter, Marilyn Jeanetta Collins, son, Ricky Neal Collins, brothers, Glenn and Bobby Parks and sister, Shirley Buttry.  She is survived by her daughter, Donna Collins Duke (Jimi), son, Roy “Steve” Collins (Penny), grandchildren, Jim and Steven (Jamie) Duke, Kendall, Chloe, and Delaney Collins, great granddaughter, Lyla Duke, and many nieces and nephews.

Inez was born in Millers Chapel on May 10, 1934 where she lived until moving to Town Branch in Jonesville, VA.  In the early years of marriage, she and Jack moved to Hampton, VA.  Inez was employed by Hampton City Schools from which she retired in 1991.  Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.  She took pleasure in cooking for them all, especially on Holidays.  She enjoyed having a clean house, the greenest grass, growing beautiful flowers and feeding the birds.  She was a kind and sweet soul and will be greatly missed by all.

A private graveside service is planned for May.
