ODIS B. COLE, SR., 66 years old, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on February 23, 2017 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He joined the Army at age 17 and fought in the Vietnam War. Odis married his school sweetheart, Doris J. Cole in 1967. They have been married for 50 years. He worked as head chef at Carson Newman for 20 years helping others and always giving. He later retired due to health reasons. God and family were important in his life. He leaves behind his lovely wife, Doris J. Cole; children, Tiffany Hosch and husband Kent, Crystal Cole, Shawn Cole, Otis Cole, Jr. and wife Tanna; mother, Geneva Cole; sisters, Diane M. Whiteside and husband Buford , Anna Jean Horton, Sharon A. Riddles; brother, Ronnie Cole, Sr.; host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Ernest Otis Cole; oldest brother, Ulysses E. Cole, and Joseph Hardy; uncle, James Cole, Sr.; brother-in-law, William C. Horton, Sr. We would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Parkwest Medical center and the V.A. of Morristown and Johnson City for their wonderful care and compassion they have shown. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Nathaniel Wilson officiating. Military graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery in Greeneville, TN.
