Obera Vaught

Gladys Obera Vaught went to be with her Lord and heavenly family on March 3, 2025. Obera was a wonderful mother and grammy. She will be greatly missed. 

Obera was preceded in death by her parents, Artis and Mavis Moore; brothers, James Moore & Charles Moore; sisters, Shirly Ann Emmons & Linda Sue Johnston; and sons, Steven Blair Vaught & Richard Darrell Vaught.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Earnest Vaught; children, Karen (Tracy) Rafalowski, Patrick (Debra) Vaught, and Alisa (Scott) Howerton; grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler) Slone, Michelle Vaught (Steven Maursetter), Abby Rafalowski (David Tullock), Presley Vaught, Taylor (Jasmine) Howerton, & Jordan (Aaron) Trent; great grandchildren, Bella Vaught, Ava Slone, and Rilee & Raygan Howerton.

The family would also like to thank Crystal and Micah, her nurses at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will take place from 5PM to 7PM Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. A funeral service will follow at 7PM with Rev. Scott Howerton & Taylor Howerton officiating. Burial will take place at 11AM Friday, March 7, 2025 at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a charity that was close to her heart.
