Norma Dean Large French, born February 21, 1945, in White Pine, Tennessee, died November 11, 2022 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She bravely lived with breast cancer finally losing her battle. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 41 years, Michael French. She is also survived by her beloved daughters, Mitzi Denise and husband Darrell Donahoo, Melanie Ann Chambers White, and Melinda Carol and husband Darrin Breeden. She was Nanny to her grandchildren, Hunter Lawson Donahoo and wife Kaylin, Lakin Caroline Breeden, and Lex Harrison Breeden and G-Nanny to precious great granddaughter Rylee Hunter Donahoo. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by cherished friends, Gladys and Ken Dalton, Angie Lewis, Vickie Burross, and Nancy Turner. Norma was famous for her incredible red velvet cake, always requested by church members of Hopewell Presbyterian Church and all friend and family gatherings with never a morsel left. She was instrumental in creating Hopewell Presbyterian's three cookbooks, A Taste of Hope I, II, and III. The family will receive friends at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge Chapel on Monday, November 14, 2022, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm with the Reverend Mark Knisley and nephew, Reverend Darrell Chambers officiating. The burial service will be held at Deep Springs Cemetery in Dandridge the following day at 11:00am with Reverend Mark Knisley and Reverend Darrell Chambers officiating. Pallbearers include Michael Eddington, Rodney Eddington, Todd Smith, Stacy Large, Eric Large and Michael Fain. Memorial donations may be made to Blue's Backpacks Food for Kids c/o Grant's Chapel UMC, PO Box 693, Dandridge, TN 37725. The family wishes to thank Hopewell Presbyterian Church for love, food, and prayers. UT Hospice for the support and kindness shown during this illness and Farrar's Funeral Home.
