Nola C. Mills,age 97 of Talbott, Tennessee, formerly of Sneedville, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Saturday evening, August 3, 2002 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City following a brief illness. Mrs. Mills was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, the Fidelis Sunday School Class, and the Women;s Missionary Union. She was a retired teacher with the Hamblen County Board of Education and a member of the Hamblen County Retired Teachers Association. She was an active member of the Jefferson County Home Demonstration Club, the Major George Gibson Chapter of NSDAR, the Sneedville Chapter of the OES, and the Sneedville Chapter of GFWC. She was the widow of the late Dr. J.E. "Doc" Mills who was a prominent dentist in the area for many years, having passed away in December of 2001. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Margaret Livesay Catron; her brothers, Lloyd, Henry, Jess, and Burkett Catron; her sisters, Sarah Livesay, Maude Snodgrass, and Viola Hurrell. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Don Drinnon of Talbott; granddaughter, Sarah Drinnon; great granddaughter, Kylah Atkins; several nieces and nephews; and special thanks to her dear friends at Chandler House where she had made hoe home since the passing of her dear husband. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning,August 6, 2002 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Luther Lawson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday evening, August 5, 2002 at the funeral home. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City, Tn 865-475-3892
