Nina Swann Payne

Nina Swann Payne, age 93, of Jefferson City, TN and formerly of Morristown, TN and Maryville, TN passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Jefferson County Nursing Home, Rogers Cottage, Dandridge, TN. Nina was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church where she was an active participant of Senior Sunday School until she moved to reside with her daughter, Sharon Carpenter. Nina was a retired employee of American Airlines Sky Chef. She is survived by three children, Sharon Carpenter and husband Ken of Jefferson City; Richard L. and Sharon Payne of Maryville, TN; Patty Dukes of Morristown, TN; 6 grandchildren, Sherry Christenberry Sims, Laura Christenberry Mills of Seymour, TN, Gary Payne, Richelle Gregory, Melissa Thacker all of Maryville, TN, Justin Tipton of Morristown, TN; numerous great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and sister in law Frances Swann. Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Payne; parents, George and Nellie Swann; sisters, Janelle Graham, Dorothy Miller, Ray Swann and Winona Hall; brothers, Kyle Swann and Laymon Swann. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery, Maryville, TN for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
