Nelma Hurst Edmonds

NELMA HURST EDMONDS, age 86, of Dandridge, TN, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at the Jefferson County Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was a member of Swanns Chapel Baptist Church and had worked at the Jefferson County Nursing Home as long as she was able. She was the daughter of the late James and Maudie Hurst and was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Evelyn Fain; sister, Mrs. Charles (Willie) Briggs; and brothers, Warren Hurst and Rella Hurst. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Joyce and Gerald Layman; grandson, Billy Layman; great grandchildren, Taylor Layman and Brea and Ethan; sister, Mae Loveday; and brother, Haskell Hurst. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge with the Rev. John Price and Rev. Jeff Foster officiating. Graveside interment services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4 in the Swanns Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday prior to the services at the funeral home.
