Nellie Lindsey Mills, age 82 of Dandridge, TN went home to her Savior Wednesday, April 16, 2003. She was a retired teacher from the Dayton, Ohio school system. She was born in the Pittman Center area of the Smokey Mountains. When the Smokey Mountains became a park, her family moved to Jefferson County in 1927. She was a graduate of Carson Newman College. She was an active member of the Green Hill Baptist Church and while health permitted, she faithfully visited the sick and shut-ins weekly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ennis Mills; sons, Clyde and Jim Tom Mills and daughter, Margie Mills Farmer. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Ennis and Margie Mills of Dandridge; daughter and husband, Barbara and Charlie Wyatt of West Alexandria, OH; son in law, George Farmer of Corbin, KY; daughter in law, Margaret Mills of Renton, WA; grandchildren, Laura, Andrea, and Aaron Mills of Dandridge; special niece and husband, Joan and Doc Chambers; special nephew and wife, Tommy and Debbie Lindsey; special brother in law and wife, Eugene and Helen mills of Pineville, KY; special son and sife; Bill and Julia Teater of New Lebanon, OH; special friends, Millie Swafford, Nell Trentham and Mary Nell Walker, Shirley Ogle and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2003 at the Green Hill Baptist Chruch in Dandridge with Pastor Len McElyea and Pastor Tommy Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2003 prior to the service. Interment will be Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge.
