Nellie "Estelle" Gattis Jordan

NELLIE “ESTELLE” GATTIS JORDAN, age 86, of Jefferson City, TN passed from this life on Sunday, May 14, 2017. Formerly of Jacksonville, FL, Estelle was a home health aide for many years. She was born in Waresboro, GA to Sephes and Florence (Smith) Gattis. Estelle was of the Baptist faith, and could remember every word of her favorite old hymns, long after her memory of other things escaped her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Dewey Taylor and Charles Huey “Bobby” Jordan; and son, David A. Jordan. Survivors include sons, Ronnie (Robin) Taylor of Jefferson City, TN, Dewey Earl (Della) Taylor, Lester (Debbie) Taylor, and Charles Randall (Tammy) Jordan, all of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and sister, Minnie Lee Hall. Estelle’s family wishes to thank the care-givers of Chandler House, her home for the last several years. Their selfless efforts and genuine care made Estelle feel special and loved. Thanks also to Amedisys Hospice for their care and support. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Music Funeral Home in Waycross, GA with Jason Ray Taylor (Estelle’s grandson) officiating. Graveside interment service will follow at Waresboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
