Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Natheta Rae Fisher “Skeeter”, died on September 25, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. Skeeter was the heart of our home and family. She is preceded in death by her mother Louise Crow and father Everett Crow. Survived by her loving husband of 57 years Fred Fisher, sister Renee (Phil) Rader, two children Shad Fisher and Carrie (Donnie) Atkins, grandchildren Tierney (Jay) Tucker, Carissa (Stef) Kambanellos, Mason (Jennifer) Atkins, Kalvin Fisher, great grandchildren Cate Kambanellos, Tiernan Tucker, and many nieces and nephews.
Skeeter, born in Warsaw, Indiana, graduated from Syracuse High School, where she met her beloved husband, Fred. Together, they moved to Jefferson City, Tennessee, in 1980, settling on the beautiful Cherokee Lake, where they raised their two wonderful children.
Skeeter's heart was as vast as the lake she adored. Her love for the outdoors, especially fishing, was only matched by her boundless hospitality. Known to all as a second mom and 'Mamaw,' her home was a haven for friends and family alike. Sunday gatherings were especially cherished, where she delighted in cooking for everyone and watching the joy unfold on the lake.
Her deep love for cooking brought much happiness to those she welcomed into her home. In her leisure, she enjoyed playing pinochle with friends, showcasing her playful spirit.
Skeeter had an undeniable bond with her grandchildren, often stepping in as a caring babysitter. Seven years ago, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and attended Mt. Vale Church of God.
We celebrate her life filled with love, laughter, and faith.
We would like to say a special thanks to all the friends and family that have offered love and support throughout these difficult months. Also, we would like to thank Brittani with UT hospice who was by our sides through the end of the journey.
Family and friends and those whose lives Skeeter touched are invited to Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W Broadway Blvd., Jefferson City, TN 37760 on September 29, 2024 for receiving of friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. and the service to follow at 5:00 p.m.
