Naomi Rose Sharp McCarter

NAOMI ROSE SHARP MCCARTER, age 96, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on September 3, 2014 in her home with her family by her side. She was born in Knoxville, TN on July 16, 1918. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and served as a member of the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her husband, George McCarter; mother and father, Walter and Bertha Sharp; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine and Massey Tarwarter, Theo and Bruce Huffaker, Lizzy and Lloyd Jolly, Mildred and Clearence Lee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willis and Naomi Sharp and Wilbur and Geneva Sharp; son-in-law, Burl Hancock; and granddaughter, Angie Hancock. She is survived by her daughter, Jessie Hancock; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Phyllis McCarter; grandchildren, Tim and Jackie Hancock, Mark and Audrey McCarter, Steve and Lisa McCarter; great-grandchildren, Steve Hancock, Ashley Hancock, Crystal McCarter, Tabitha McCarter; great--great-grandchildren, Morgan Hancock, Cody Hancock, Tyler Hancock and Lainee Terry; also several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by family and friends, including her special caregivers, Joie, Mary Kaye, Karen and Connie, and David and Annie Minton. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Trent and Rev. Steve Hancock officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Pollard Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
