NANCY J. DAVIS BAKER, age 78, of Dandridge, TN passed away Monday morning, July 23, 2012 at her home following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Jasper Judson Davis and Alverta Grubb Davis. Preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Bruce Snodderly. She was a 1951 graduate of Rush Strong School and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she majored in Home Economics and was a member of the Dandridge First United Methodist Church. Nancy was a beautiful lady, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed gourmet cooking and traveling with her husband and family and for a period of time lived in Japan and Sanibel, FL. Survived by husband of 58 years, Robert A. (Bob) Baker; sons and daughters-in-law: Mark and Teresa Baker of Sanibel, FL and Scott and Lesa Baker of Dandridge; grandchildren, Ryan Baker and Nick Baker both of Sanibel, FL, Isabelle Baker of Dandridge; sister, Phyllis Bates and husband David of Brentwood, TN; brother, F.M. Davis and wife Gerri of Strawberry Plains, TN; brother-in-law, Boyd Baker and wife Sara of Sanford, FL.
Funeral services Thursday, 8:00pm at the Dandridge First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Kilday and Dr. Jay Ferguson officiating. Interment graveside services, Friday, 10:00am at Hillcrest Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6:00 to 8:00pm at the church prior to services.
